The Titanic Commutator is the quarterly publication of the Titanic Historical Society. It's always filled with great stories and nice products you can buy related to Titanic. The Titanic Historical Society branches out and tries to preserve the history of all transatlantic liners and the people who sailed in them. My favorite issues, however, are the ones that bring the focus back to the Titanic herself!
This quarter's issue is now ready, I'm told, and I can't wait to see it. Among the highlights are new insights into the sinking from Sam Halpern and Tom McCluskie’s opinion about the Nomadic’s return to Belfast. What I look forward to most is the undertaker's touching tale about the funeral of a very private person - Lillian Gertrud Asplund, the last U.S. Titanic survivor who passed away in May. I have a feeling this article is going to tug at the heart strings as it is surely a story of human nature and the basic goodness that exists in all people.
