Farewell: R.M.S. Olympic's final voyage

Southampton lost another giantess in 1935 when the city paid a reluctant farewell to S.S. Olympic, first of the Olympic-class liners and older sister to the doomed Titanic. Twenty three years after the loss of her infamous sister, Olympic was sent to the breakers. It was a sad end to a long career for a ship that came to be known as "Old Reliable." Her demolition came just a few years after Cunard merged with White Star.
